Spokane is the smallest city to host a World's Fair. Spokane is the home of Bing Crosby. And more than ½ of the buildings downtown are on the Historic Register, including the Davenport Hotel and the Riverside Avenue Historic District.

The Lilac City
Spokane is known as the birthplace of Father’s day but more locally known as the “Lilac City”. The annual Spokane Lilac Festival has been a spring tradition since 1938 and also celebrates with the world’s largest timed footrace, the Lilac Bloomsday Run.
