Huckleberries
You might be thinking of Potatoes but the locals are dreaming of Huckleberries, the state fruit! Similar to a blueberry in look and taste, huckleberries grow in the wild around here and can easily be picked in the summertime. In Idaho you’ll find no shortage of huckleberry jam, huckleberry ice cream, huckleberry pancakes, and even huckleberry wine!

Kootenai County / 208
It’s not hard to spot a local in Idaho:
208 - 208 is one of the original area codes created in 1947, it covers the entire state of Idaho! “Back-in-the-day” you didn’t even need to put an area code to reach your friends because everyone had 208. Now, of course, 10-digit-dialing is mandatory.
K for Kootenai (A for Ada) - When you’re driving around you’ll notice a lot of license plates starting with K. Idaho uses license plates to identify which county the car is licensed in - K for Kootenai, A for Ada (Boise), 1L for Latah (Moscow) etc!
